Default Where are the points located?

Hi, I'm new here. I have an 84 honda 70 atc and was searching here to find out what my problem was...from the search it looks like the points are probably bad, but I don't know where they are or even what they exactly do. Could someone give me a description of where the points are located? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They are behind the stator, left side of eng. You'll need a puller. But then again, you may be able to file them. The slot in the stator you adjust them with will allow you to get a file in there. If it sparks then, thats where your trouble is.
