The XR will bolt right in and has one advantage and one disadvantage.
The advantage is that you get the extra 6th gear....the disadvantage is that the lick starter motion on the XR is backwards and cannot be converted to forward using the 200X parts. You will either have to remove your fenders when you start it up, or cut a large portion from your fenders, or trim the rear fenders while shortening the kick start lever. Shortening the lever is the cleanest approach, but makes it harder to kick with less leverage..
As for the cooling, the early XR engines and 200X use the exat same heads. Despite what I have read over the internet and magazines over the years, the valve springs are the same as well.
The cooling fins on the cylinder of the 200X are slightly larger to allow better cooling, but unless you go to a bigbore kit, it's not that significant of an upgrade.
I would recommend an oil cooler before swapping cylinders. It will be more beneficial.
