atc 70 wont start

Default atc 70 wont start

my atc 70 wont start! when i pull it it takes about 5 pulls to get 1 spark to come out. Please help!

change the spark plug..check the gap...

it's a brand new sparkplug.

Try checking the points first. The quickest way to do that is to use a test light on the wire going from the points to the coil and make sure it flashes when you pull the rope. (yank the plug to make pulling easier) If it does flash suspect the coil or the plug wire. (just to make sure you know, when you look at the plug to see if it is firing, make sure that you ground it good, wire brush a little spot to touch it to on the head if you have to. If it doesn't flash the light, suspect the points or the mag. Before you buy anything though, check to make sure all of the wire's on the harness are in good shape and not grounding to anything.
