What is the worst crash that you have ever had on a three wheeler.

 

Last weekend I had my worst crash ever. I was going through some woods close to my house. I was going about half throttle in 4th gear. Then all a suddenly I hit a big a$$ stump, and it rolled on it side and slide about 20ft into a bunch of thorns, and that didn't feel good either.

 

The worst and the only crash ( i cant never keep my trikes that i have had running long enough ) i have had, I was riding down my grandparents driveway, a went to turn around and for some reason, i didnt let off the gas! I didnt flip but instead i went through a big ditch and into the side of a building. that didnt feel real good.

 

i was in 5th gear far into the powerband and about to click 6th when i went over the face of a dune. it was only about 10ft high and it happened so fast i didnt get a chance to even hit the brakes. cartwheeled the bike i was thrown and just had some cuts and bruises.

 

the jump pick in my profile i hit in 5 gear time after time, last day of the trip in (mexico) i hit one more jump and did the nastiest indo!! i should be in a wheel chair for that one.

I just got new tires and i wanted to make sure that the bead was seated so i had the recomended 10psi in each tire, i was going through the woods in 3rd going up a hill, put the front wheel between two rocks and the back two over inflated tires bounced over the rocks and of course me being still on the gas the a$$ end of the bike was bouncing back and forth flipping the bike on its side, I landed under the bike with my head in the dirt. I think i tore some tendons in my ankle cause i was bruised from the end of my toes half way up my calf.

I still rode the rest of the day.

 

My worst wreck on an atc was on a 110 when I was 18. I put golf cart tires on the back so I could slide it sidways around a dirt track I made. It would run pretty good like that because my brother was on my 185 with regular knobbies and I could outrun him around the track. Anyway it rained one night and I got up early the next morning and me and my brother started making some laps. I was putting a pretty good beating on him when I was making a left I had her gapped open and sliding sidway wound out in fouth gear low range. Then my left foot slipped off of the peg and went under the left rear tire which pulled me halfway off of the trike all while locking up the rear tires and flipping the trike over on my head a couple of times. I jump up and my foot was pretty sore but I wasn't to worried about it though. So I went and parked my trike and went inside and took a shower to rinse off all the mud. By 8:00 that night my foot was blue and my neck was stiff as a board. A couple of days later I was alright. I think that the people who have had really bad wrecks on trikes aren't still here to tell about it.

There is one more I have to tell you about though. I was at Little Sahara a couple of months ago for the Rattle Snake Round Up. I stayed for a whole week and had a blast. Me and my buddies were out on a pretty late night ride when we topped a dune and at the bottom of it there was a buggy broken down. So we stopped to see if we could help. The guy that was driving was pretty wasted and he said that he was out of oil and he wanted to know if one of us could take him back to his camp to get some oil. I said sure and he hoped on my 85 250R with me and we headed to his camp. When we took off he kept pulling back on me, so I asked him if he wanted to wheelie or somthing and was like, HELL YEAH!! So we did a couple of little short wheelie's and then we got over by the drag strip and I was wound out in 6th and he was making us wheelie. I couldn't stop him, anybody that has an R knows that if you have some one on the back all they have to do is bounce and you wheelie away. So we are flying along on a wheelie, I'm lovin it and so is he when all of the sudden the back tires locked up and we slid for a long ways before we stopped and he was holloring the whole time we slide. When we stopped I was like WTF, he said get it off me, get it off me. Come to find out both of his feet sliped off of the pegs and went under my gecko's. He was in some pain but I still couldn't help but laugh. I think if we had been on anything besides sand he would have broke somthing. He may have broke somthing and just been to drunk to know it. I got it off of him and we went back to his camp, and for some reason he didn't try to wheelie for the remainder of the trip. When we got to his camp he got some oil and he got one of his buddies to carry him back out there in a buggy. It was like he didn't want to ride with me or somthing.

 

The worst crash I had on a 3 wheeler was about 10 years ago. I had a Yamaha 225 and it had the front and back racks on it and I had strapped a 5 gallon gas container on the front at least I had thought I did. There is a realy steap hill that we have to go down and the back was sliding down pretty good when the gas container came loose and fell off to one side but was still attached to the strap and it ripped the bars out of my hands and the bike flipped over and at some point on the way down the 3 wheeler was riding me then I had the sense to roll off to one side and let it continue without me. When I asked my freind who was at the bottom of the hill how my face looked he said it looked fine, just alittle scratched and bloody. When I got home later that night I had awakened my wife and she turned on the light and judging by the look on her face, my face must have looked realy bad. I never did look in a mirror on the way home but she got the Peroxide and tweezers and started pulling rocks and sand out of my face. It was at this point I asked her for permission to buy a fourwheeler and she said go right ahead and the next morning I did just that.

I had a couple other mishaps but this one is the must memorable experience that i can still to this day see happening in slowmotion. 2 years later a freind broke his arm on the same hill except he was trying to climb it on his Big Red and even after I told him not to take that route but go the long way around.

My worst crash was by stupity. I was up in Drummond, WI and me and the family went on a bike trip, and we were racin on the trails, crossin bridges, havin A GOOD TIME [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img], and when I went up to the 3rd bridge, Id figure it would be the same as the first 2, small ramp, easy to race on, so I did the same. it wasnt till about 15 feet I noticed there is 2 small ramps, for a quad or dirt bike, but not 3 wheelers. when I hit the bridge at full throttle in 5th gear, I bounced the front tire, got the back end off the ground, and it threw me off, and the bike fliped over, slaming into the guard rail. it was pretty cool, cause I got right up and walked it off, and laughed, until I noticed the bridge is 50 feet off the ground from rocks and a small creek. the bike was fine, but if it wasnt for the rail, me and the bike would of been gone...but I rember it all the time, reminding me how stupid it is to race on trails or land you never road on. That bike was a 250SX.

My next scare, but wasnt as bad, was racin the 350X I bought. I was racin in the trails up north, ad like 10pm, and the bike bogged. it took me about 20 min to start, and hearin things move around in pitch black freaked me out, so I went out as fast as I could, and when I took a sharp turn, I noticed a tree in my way, and I locked the front brake, making the bike endo on its front wheel, but the tree also stoped me dead in the tracks, and makin the back end come up and it almost touched the tree (bike looked like a "/" slant) and then slamed down.
thoes were fun, but I think hill climbing and bottoming out w/ a snowmobiel is more fun. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

it was the first weekend i had my r and i was running about 65 or 70 and left rear rim and tire fell off and me and the trike went rollin down the road about 30 or 40 yards
