Default 350x + water

well, my brother got washed down a creek, and before the 350x died it sucked about a quart of water in with the oil. it hasnt ran since. we have changed the oil, but it still wouldnt run, so we towed it behind the foreman and it sputtered alittle, but still no go. so we took it back into the shop and draind the oil again, and took the muffler off and drained it. now we are letting the oil drain totally over night and we are going to try again tommrow. we already drained some gas and it was fine. so is there any obvios reason why it isnot running? if it dosnt run tommrow we will be about out of ideas.

Is there any chance there is water in the carb? Maybe empty the carb bowl and see if that helps. Also, maybe there is some water in the cylinder, I'ld turn the bike over without the spark plug in to make sure.

I'm surprised it didnt crack the piston or head, but you never know, water doesnt compress....im sure something got hurt pretty hard

when he hit the creek the current turned him downstream and the water flowed in the muffler and i'm guessing that the backpressure killed the engine. we havnt tried it since we drained the exhaust, we are hoping that was it. it never fliped, nathan kindof rode it down, then we drug it up the bank with the foreman. we kicked it a few times right there and it turned over fine so there was no water in the cylinder. the airbox was dry too. the crank case did suck alot of water however, but i dont see any damage. we pulled the plug and didnt see anything out of the ordinary when we kicked it over. we changed the oil twice. we drained the carb too. we havnt taken it off to inspect it though, but we dont suspect anything out of the ordinary up there. so where is the major entry point for water? jsut the crankcase breather? also any non-water friendly electronics on it? it has spark so i didnt think so.

well, he got it running today when i was at school. still not totaly sure what the problem was, probably water in everything. he says its back to normal. so how many oil changes untill the engine will be 100%water free? its on its second and i'm not sure that its all out. we'll probably run the cheap oil for alittle while and then change to honda oil again when we are sure.

yeah, that tnt, man its fast for how old it is, but it dont steer woth a.... last time i had it out the exhaust pipe blew off the engine.. it will probably stay that way. i'm not sure if earplugs are going to cut it, its LOUD!! it actually runs amazingly well, if you can get it to start. the E clip on the pull rope came off and left me stranded. i think that you can still see the tow rope tied to the front bumper in the pic! i havnt touched it since i parked it. i might get that back together by winter. its one of those things that you run once a year because it takes about a year for you to forget last years accidents. the gas is fine on the 3wheeler, but we are still watching the oil, well atleast its running again.
