I've finally got that thing down to its bare frame and i'm starting to sand down and paint stuff. What kind is the best kind of paint to use on my frame? And what exact color is it?

Yep take it to a powder coaters . The bigger industial ones usually do them very cheap($50 to $100) because they can put your parts in with other batches . Check around there are powder coating shops everywhere , they just dont advertise. If you cant find any I can hook you up . Honda red ,black, and grey are dirt cheap.

The exact OE color is called Passion Red. You can get a complete new parts brake down on www.bikebandit.com. Or you can go to www.helminc.com and buy all kinds of repair schematic books you want and they are the original repair and tech manuals or you can even get them on disk too.

To thebutler,

Your 350X is a great machine, I am looking for one to restore and ride also. I do some riding in your area as well. I have a buddy who has a cabin in Herrod, IL. We go through Golconda on the way there all the time. We have been so lost in that area before that we thought we would never get home. We ride licensed dual sports and get so lost we usually have to come back on the highways. Do you know anyone else who has a 350X that they would be interested in selling?

mhm2a,

I have a brother-in-law who has a 85 he is looking to sell. it is stock. it is in pretty good shape. It does need the front forks rebuilt but that is really easy. it still has the OE rear fenders on it but is missing the black flap on the back. It does have a title for it as far as I know. I dont know what you want to spend but he talked somewhere between 1200-1300. He does have a DG chrome full system for it as well. I can get pics if you are serious about it or know someone who would be.

Where is he located? I have a line on one in VA that has only been riden three or four times and is the original owner but that is a 10 hour drive for me. I would like to find one that is closer. The kicker is that he is only asking $900.
