Which would you choose. A 1984 250r Honda, or a 1985 Kawasaki Tecate. I don't have enough money to get both in the condition I want. I know the Honda will have more parts available, but the tecate is kinda cool because they are getting scarce, it also should have the edge on speed in stock form.

1984 Honda 250r complete except for the head and cylinder. Good plastic and several mods (aftermarket pipe, and several other items). purchased for $300

1985 Kawasaki Tecate, flywheel threw a magnet, but didn't damage stator. Great compression, but I have no plastic at all. Purchased for $250

I have another 85 Tecate coming that has all the plastic, and is probably in better condition, but doesn't have a motor. I am probably going to pick it up around $100-200.

I would go with the tecate. I really don't know how avalible the parts are for the 1st generation 250r's.

Thats what I was leaning towards. A tecate would be more unique. Thanks,
