any tips on pull cords

Default any tips on pull cords

I have had to redo the pull starter assembly on my 3 horse briggs and stratton motor 5 times and i have always doen it my self but i am so pi$$ed off that i have to do it again the does anybody have any tips on assembling these the worst part is the spring any tips

Is your rope breaking..is that the problem..if so, i suggest a heavier duty rope.

the rope was breaking but i just got a heavier rope but the hardest part is winding the spring. does anybody ahve any tricks on how to do this easily

I have always used another person with a needle nose
plyers ready to fish the stub end of the rope through the
exit hole when I think I have turned the spool enough
times.

There's a really good writeup on the www.3wheeler.org forums...in the tech forum. Someone did an excellent writeup with pictures.
