Overbore on a 83 250R

Default Overbore on a 83 250R

My 1983 250R is bored .060. how much more is safe. Because the previous owner didnt know how to mix gas properly and took the airbox off without jetting or a pipe. So now the piston is scored and the sleeve is too.

Default Overbore on a 83 250R

I have an aircooled that is bored .80. I have not ran it yet but the guy I got it from ran avgas and said it ran fine and the piston looks good from what I can tell.

Should I run a high octane fuel?

I really wouldn't know about that one, I've never run it before. I'm sure someone else here could answer that for you.
