Ok, i have a 85 atc 250r that im going to put the following mods on: esr full exhuast, a 38 mm carb, esr airbox elimanator kit, and esr 2000 series reeds.

I was wondering how my 250r will do against stock yfz's, yfz's that are piped, and ds 650s

rider will play a role, but the piped YFZ will be the faster bike. but the margin isnt so much that if you can ride, you still gotta chance.

i raced plenty of piped YFZ with the same mods as you but with some mild porting and walked on them slowly this weekend. this was hill shooting btw on long gearing 14/39 or 38 w/20 inch sand skate II's.

get it ported and some more compression, that'll be more than enough and wont break the bank.

its fun to be right in there with your buddies. all my friends are broke so no one wants to race me. then i go to glamis and i cant hang with those guys because everyone is so damn fast.

there's a little known secret about duning........the fun is in the dunes not at the drags or hill. i swear you go to in the dunes and you dont see much of anyone, go to the hill and you'd swear they were handing out 20 dollar bills.

HA, that is so true, me and my dad go to the dunes and just shred through dumont and it feels like you alone, but if you go to comp its packed. All my dads friends like to just race, and they are scared to crest some tall razors, to me it is way more fun to ride the dunes then to drag race, even though drag racing can be fun too.

They usually get the jump on me but that's it. Once I hit second and then third, bye-bye.

I know this one is getting old, but.......

ATC250R vs YFZ, 2 raptors, trx250r and a banshee

This race really wasn't fair becsuse the R is fully modded for ice racing, but I still like to respond when people ask.
