just wondering stock for stock what would win in drag race 250r or tecate 3?

 

seeming as ive never seen a tecate running without having at least one top end rebuild and i have seen plenty of 250r's on orignal bore.......the 250r. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

i think the tecate usually won in a drag race stock for stock.

The tecate would from what i have been told. I have talked to people who have owned either one or the other or both in one case and they always said the tecate would beat the R. I dont know what years that they had, that might make a difference.

 

I have had both before, And i still kick myself for getting rid of the tecate.
The Tecate was the faster of the 2 , It pulled the R off the line and just kept pulling a lead. I have even raced some Banshees and beet them on mine. It was all stock except for pipe and reeds.
The tecate was a 86 model and the R was a 85.

 

stock for stock, tecate will win, with pipes tecate will win, nowadays tecate will loose because aftermarket mods dident keep up with the kawie, as they did with the r, but if they did, i think it would be real close. i had a chance to buy a tecate 3 but passed it up. back in the early 80's i would have went with the tecate instead of honda but dident have a choice. i thank my dad for not corrupting me with kawie[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

The tecate may be a little faster then the 250r.. but i have an 1986 250r that has never had to be rebuilt yet. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I had an 85 that went 'til 02 without needing a rebuild. Funny thing is, it wasn't even the top-end that wore out first,(lower rod bearing).

I've been looking a Tecates here and there. Anyone know what the best year to get? I saw an excellent condition one on ebay some time ago. I probably should have jumped on it but they wanted big bucks, if I remember correctly.
