experimenting with an 85 R
#1
im playing with the sprockets right now. im trying torque first. i have bought a 12tooth for the front and 42 for the back. is this crazy or a waist of time. havent got it yet but going to a ct 350proX big bore with a +8 swing and 20x10x10 10 paddle extremes (skat trak)
has anyone ever tried that sprocket combo?

no, but thats insane for gearing. you'll want 2-4 at olds so your gearing when you get the 350 will be more like 14/37 (if they even make a 37 or so with 20 inch paddles.
i run a 14 on my bike with 20 inch paddles and have no problems. i can pull 4th pretty good at olds (not good enough to get the most MPH but enough to know i dont want to be in 3rd)
with that gearing, you're probably closer for the bike trying to pull 5th out of the whoops. the problem with that is now you have to shift TWICE in the whoops. onces is bad enough.

344pv,
dont you think a 10 paddle extreme would be hell on launches for a 350 trike with a +8? seems like a less paddle UL hauler might be a better choice. either that or a +10 if you're going run alcohol.

i was wondering that (paddles) i dont have a problem with shifting twice on the whoops, just keeping the front end down. especially when the hill rounds off. but of course i should be slowing down by then. i almost have the bike ready, but im taking my time. easter it will be done. have to heal my fractured leg first
