cam chain

i adjusted my valves today and the loud tick went away there is still a slight noise from the valves or rockers i was wondering if this was normal?? also is there a way to adjust the cam chain on a 84 200x?? or is there a way to check if it is still good?? thanks

Cam chain adjusting every now and then is a must. I can make noise if it becomes to loose and slaps the cylinder. I let one go so long one time that the chain ate a hole in my jug and started leaking by the front cylinder stud on the right side. I can't belive that it didn't throw the chain. Get your bike up to running temperature. At idle loosen the 14mm nut about 1/2 turn then retighten. You know that you have the right bolt if it has a 10mm bolt on top of the 14mm bolt. You dont have to loosen the 10mm. That is one on top of you your cases just behind the jug on the left side of your motor. You may have a rubber cover on it if the cover is still there. It is on top of the bottom end. Just toward the rear of the bike on the shifter side. It will be right behind where your Jug meets the transmission cases. Where the base gasket goes. I may have a rubber cover on it that looks like a baby bottle nipple.
