I may have asked this in a previous thread and I apology now if I have, but don't remember the answer. How will it hurt my ENGINE(just for you Thrash) to run pump gas instead of 110 race fuel? My compression is 215 cold & 205 warm. Doesn't make sense to me but tried it 5x both ways and it repeated everytime. Checked after riding this weekend and was still the same.
Thanks

smart @$$................. I am not sure by the PSI on the compression on what octane you should use, BUT! If you use too low of octane you can get Detonation; that is caused by the piston compressing the fuel/air "too much" and it explodes before the plug actually lights it {the higher the octane the slower it burns, and takes the pressure). In the worst case you can melt a piston. If you "overkill" the Octane, you waste money (expecially with gas prices now), but do no damage.
Yell at me on the IM....got the bike started......

Pump gas Vs race fuel
VP i believe sells in 105-108-110-112 incriments or some garbage, been a while since i bought it because i dont need it. i will be buying more soon though, and the crap is liquid gold so watch it.

straight 108 would work fine. your jetting will have to change if you jetted it from pump gas but not by much but if you want to take full advantage, i would.

Pump gas Vs race fuel
I'm running Velocity Racing Fuel right now it is 110 octane or so the sheet the guy gave me says. I get it at Quick Trip gas right off of Molison in El Cajon. It was $4.99 a gallon on Saturday. Same price it was in Dec and Feb. Even though pump gas prices have gone up since then. I definately don't wont to melt my piston. So I'll keep using.

Thanks for everyones help.
