I had troubles with this unit shutting down after 15 or 20 minutes riding, i replaced the ignition coil. have not had a chance to run it. it did idle in driveway for 45 minutes, no problem. my question is my battery is not charging. would this be the magneto/alternator or the regulator. help i wish to have this running memorial weekend. we have 14 honda atvs in the family and we plan on riding. thanks chris

 

I had a problem like that and it turned out to be my CDI box.

 

hi your alternator must be shot it is under the flywheel

 

hey mech i just got a 200e and it is turning over but will not crank i have cleaned carb and put fresh gas in it. any ideas to whats else to do it or what may be causing it to not crank. also this is my first atc , and is apparently going to be a project, but whats the shift pattern for this bike. thanks

 

hey i got a 1983 Honda 200e big red and it turns over but it wont start. i thought it was the coil but i tried the coil in a working bike and it started the bike right up. the only way i can start my bike is to jump start it. does any1 have any ideas whats wrong? please email me if u have any ideas.

ratkiller i have a Inertec repair manual that cover's the 200e it doesn't give the shift pattern , just that it is has 5 forward speeds and no reverse transmission ! Try 1 down and 4 up or all up ! ..........williebee
