Is the fastest 3-wheeler the atc-250R?

 

The fastest from the big name companys is the Tecate-3 B1 or B2. 250r is right behind it. There was a small company back in the 80s that made faster 3wheelers but are very very rare. They had a 500 2-stroke puting down big hp numbers. But again, extremely rare to find one.

 

How fast do those go upper 70's?

 

According to a mag. test the tecate-4 (4wheelerversion) do right around 75mph and the 3 wheelers are susposed to be a bit faster so probably high 70s. Get up there very fast to.

You also said they had a 500-2stroke 3 wheeler, are you sure your not thinking of the Zilla, cause a 500-2stroke 3 wheeler would be insane.

 

Back then there was a 500, pushing around I believe 45HP. If I remember correctly Rotax build the engine and the name of the tri was Tiger.

 

Yes they did. It was super rare though. Made 45 hp with an air cooled motor. Here it is. Dunno what the top speed on that thing is but it has to be up there. It only weighs 280lbs to so 100lbs lighter than a banshee with the same power and less wind resistance.

Yup rotax did make the engine and it is made by Tiger
