Who would win? They both put out low 50's in the horsepower catagory, both will do about 80 mph, which one would you put your money on in a straight line drag race?

How much does the Tiger weigh? As an overall bike, I would put my money on the well R&D'd LT500 hands down, but in a straight line, if the Tiger is light enough.....hmmmm

Well that article said the Tiger had 42 HP (lots of torque, too, very usable) and weighed 280 lbs so 6.7 lbs/HP. They clocked it at 81 mph, probably a few mph down on top speed from the Zilla.

Quadzilla 52 HP and weighed 390 lbs so 7.5 lbs/HP, plus it has the extra drag of two front wheels, so I'm betting the Tiger would jump out in front and hold it until 81 mph, when the Zilla eventually pass by slowly.

Either of those beasts must be awesome to ride!

A guy down the street from me has a Tiger. It looks BAD, but he never rides it. I have thought about asking him to bring it out. I guess I'll go over there and put it to him.

I have been told from Zilla owners in the past on these forums that they go upper 70's. 76-78, or do they really get up into the 80's?

I think his is a 250. I don't know anything about top speed on this bike, but like everyone else have heard they were monsters.

Oh, yeah, the guy wasn't home today(guess he worked late). I'll look again tomorrow.....................

Dirt Wheels or one of the major mags had a Banshee vs Zilla shootout in '87 and the Banshee got 76 mph, the Zilla 79 mph, although they thought the Zilla had jetting problems and it was the first year model, not quite as fast as the later models. Plus they were on a dirt track, where top speed can vary depending on how hard packed it is. No doubt the later (stronger) Zillas could get into the 80s on a good hard dirt track or asphalt.

The Zilla clearly dominted the drag race after about 3rd gear.

The tiger is not as stable as the Zilla. 3 wheelers tend to bounce the front end when riding hard. I think it would be very close, depend on rider maybe.
