I have the chance to buy an air cooled 250R three wheeler I believe is an 84 that runs for $150.00 but the tranny is messed up. I was talking to a guy at the dunes here in Oklahoma and he gave me a tranny off of a water cooled 250R and said to pay him for it if it will work. My question is if the internals of the water cooled tranny will work with the air cooled motor? The 84 air cooled lost third gear and then lost first. I have never dealt with the 250R but I have heard that the shift forks where a problem at the time. Anyone have this problem before that can help me out?
