Default valve cover assembly?

Does the valve cover get a gasket? I bought an upper gasket kit and didn't get a gasket that will fit it, so I'm assuming it does not. I may just try some red rtv. I may not be calling it the right name, it's the very top cover on the engine, where the rockers are and the valve adjustment caps are. Anyhow, for some reason the kit didn't have a gasket for that so I'm gonna assume it doesn't need one since it is a dry compartment anyhow.

The valve cover does not use a gasket, you have to buy some gasket maker and apply it yourself. A small paint brush works wonders for applying an even coat around the head.
