atc 250r motor

Default atc 250r motor

out of all the years the atc 250r was made was there anything different about each motor or are they all the same??

81-84 are air cooled, and there are some differences between 81-82 and 83-84. 85-86 are water cooled and more HP than the others.

Default atc 250r motor

i was wonderin b/c i might buy one that needs a fly wheel and maybe a piston and sleeve. im not sure what year it is. i found a fly wheel for a '86 i think and thats the only year i can find so far.

85-86 have interchangable parts and also the 86-89 TRX 250R engine parts are compatible with the 85-86 ATC engines.

So by interchangeable, can someone put an 85 motor in a TRX frame??
