I have a 1979 ATC 110 it runs great but when its in 4th gear in high range it will not accelerate it wont top out it will not redline? 1-3rd gear it has plenty of power, it is all stock spark plug, stock jetting, tires, exaust, the brakes are not dragging the tires are not flat the plug is the correct etc anybody ever have this problem???

My old 110 wouldn't pull 4th gear either unless I had like 35-40 psi in the tires and I still had to really really top out 3rd gear before I shifted. Probobly wasn't the smartest things to do but hey I was like 12 years old at the time. My buddy's uncle had a 110 at that time also that had no problem pullin through the gears, but he built his own big bore kit for it, built a custom exhaust, oversized carb and was ported and polished. It was quick for a little bike but they were never intended to be fast.

My Buddy got a 1985 atc 110, its in my garage and his has no problem topping out in 4th and his burns oil. I pulled apart both trikes and there is no difference that I can find carbs, tire pressure etc. They both run the exact same except in 4th mines a DOG!!! Thanks man!

Well like I said mine ran good but had a hell of a time pullin 4th also. You could gear it down alittle, go a tooth smaller on the front sprocket or run a shorter tire in the rear. You will loose alittle top end but you'll pull through the gears a lot better. If you don't want to do that go with an intake and exhaust, rejet and see what that does. While your doing that maybe you should freshen up the top end and the clutch. I've included a couple links.

My old 79 110 was the fastest out of all my friends 110s. You had to wind the snot out of 3rd to get her to pull well in 4th. It would slowly pick up speed in 4th.
Seems like it would do 40 to 45 wide open.

Even when i crank it till it sounds like its gonna blow then shift into 4th and even if im going down hill and try to feather it to top out in 4th it will slow itself down it won't bog or die it just wont pull i have to shift it back into 3rd or it will slow down to 0 mph

The old engine just doesn't have it. Try what I posted in the previous reply. If you don't want to spend some money or lose some weight then your just gonna have to cruise 3rd.

I dont wanna put after market parts on it because it runs very good and it is nice and quiet for late night wheelin, I dont wanna gear it because in low range it has plenty of torque any more torque 1st and 2nd in low range would be useless im not gonna put 35 psi in the tires because in only calls for 4 and u need the softness for traction and suspension theres gotta be a simple fix I HOPE!!!
