want start atc250es

Default want start atc250es

Can anyone tell me how to check the timing. I can not get it to start getting fuel,air,spark,60psi compression but will not even attempt to fire up. I'm thinking timing maybe off. It has set for a while and have no history on bike it was just given to me.please help thanks

If you've only got 60 psi, it will never start it should be over 150, and ideally at about 170 if its in good shape

Thanks do you thank a valve adjustment could correct that much of compression loss.

It's possible but I doubt it, without history its hard to tell what failed on it before you got it,
is the exaust really dirty inside the pipe?
Take off the valve covers do they (the valves) move at all when you turn the motor over?
Drain the oil, is there any metal?

Take off the pull start and look at the cage, if it looks burnt the motor is probably cooked, but it also may be rebuilt and put together 180 degrees out of time. It is really hard to diagnose not looking at it.
