1984 200s Carb Adjustments
#1
I need some help please.
I know a little about engines, but not a whole lot.
1984 Honda 2002 3 wheeler
Problem: I am having trouble starting the engine. If I use starting fluid in the air filter, the thing will run perfect. I adjust the choke and it still dies on me. Here is what I have done:
-Completely removed and cleaned the carb
-Drained old gas and put brand new ($3.00/gallon) gas in
Suggestions: I beleive it's a simple carb adjust problem. I can find two adjustments on the thing. One adjustment is on the right side of carb and the other is underneath the carb.
Request: Please give me any suggestions or point me to a user manual for this thing!!!
Thanks,
Shaun

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!
The screw on the side of the carb is for your idle adjustment. The screw on the bottom is the fuel mixture screw. WHEN YOU USE STARTING FLUID ON A MOTOR YOUR SUPPOSE TO HAVE THE MOTOR TURNING OVER WHEN YOU SPRAY IT!!! If you dont you could cause piston damage and sieze the piston rings to the piston! I would not use high octane fuel for the motor (Assuming you did because you put the price down???) it does not needed it unless you have upgraded your motor to a high compression piston. And actually it will cause it to run bad if you use too high of octane fuel. The coke for the carb should be down for the coke to be off...
Good luck
