Default 84 ATC200s starting trouble

Tomorrow I am picking up a couple of 3-wheelers and a trailer. The 2 ATCs are a 83 ATC185 and a 84 ATC200s. Evidently the 200 has starting trouble. He said he uses the 185 to pull the 200 to start it. Once it is warm it starts fine. The plug is new and he said fuel supply is fine. I'm an Argo and Polaris 4 wheeler guy and know nothing about these ATCs. What might be causing the problem with starting that allows the thing to start when pull-started and to start when warm. The wheelers look awesome and they came with a 2-place aluminum trailer for 900 bucks total. I'm hoping the answer is here as I have been looking around the web and this place seems to have allot of answers. Thanks, Mike

Default 84 ATC200s starting trouble

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!

I would get them home and see really how easy it is to start after it warms up. Sounds a little fishy to me. Have you tired to start it when cold? Like I said I would just get them home and then look at them closely and see how hard it really is to pull start it when its cold. After you find out some things then ask some more questions.

Thanks for the reply. I am off in a couple hours to get them. I have had a number of hard to start machines in the past and once you figure out the routine they are fine. I'll post more info lateras it unfolds.

I ended up passing on the machines as they were in pretty rough shape (wires bare, cables cut, just run hard and put away wet). One less project on the list. Thanks for the response anyway.
