Default 185s Rear Hubs

Can I replace the 185s rear hubs with newer quad hubs?

Or is there a easier way to use newer wheels?

If those hubs are stripped, then look at the axle, chances are its done also.

they are not stripped. I want to use different wheels than the stock 185 steel wheels. I have a set of wheels/tire from a '86 250r quad that I thought would fit. I meassured the stud spacing on the 185 and it's ~5 1/4" and the 250r wheels are ~4 1/4".

I was thinking it would be cheaper to change the rear hubs than buy a new set of wheels/tires. I'm wondering if they are the same spline/length?

Thanks
