got a Uni filter for my 350X - so i pulled the old filter off and cleaned up the filter cage and went to install new Uni but there was a support spring in the Uni - i ended up pulling out the spring so i could get the filter over the factory cage - question is - should i have left the Uni as is and installed without the cage or is what i did the right thing to do??
