my question do you need the chain cover on or can you do without it.. the problem that i am having is the chain cover is missing some plastic thing that goes on the bottom of the chain cover it looks like it might help with chain tension... so what i did id remove it completely but i am alittle concern because now i have just the bare chain showing so that means that dirt can get in... thoughts please

 

Most bikes have the chains exposed, but if there was a chain tensioner built in you may need it. Our TRX70 didn't appear to have a tensioner built into the cover, I believe it was more for a safety guard so little kids don't get any body parts in there.

 

i have a picture but it wont let me post it...but anyways the chain cover looks like the chain might lay agianst it...

 

The chain shouldn't be so loose that it needs the cover as a guide. Most chain guides are plastic and only a couple inches long.

that is exactly it the piece number 7... thanks i will just leave it off then... does it matter if dirt gets in there?

 

Buy a real good chain lube at your local dealer.
