i have an 83 185s... put new tires on it and now have a slow rim leak... i tried "Slime", its guarenteed to fix the problem..but its not working.

what other years or models use that same rear rim? does anyone know......
i see a lot of rims on ebay, just dont know which one to get.....

 

When I worked at firestone I had to do alot of atv tires, most of them I had to take a wire brush and cleaner and get the rim clean to get them to seal.

Is the rim bent? Are you sure it is on the wheel and not the valve stem or the valve?

 

the rims where both rusty inside... the mechanic did clean up the rims as best he could but told me that one may not hold air. this rim is dinged up doesnt surprize me that it leaks he replaced both valve stems for me too on both rims
do you know what other years / models have the same rim?

 

you need to measure the bolt pattern to find new rims they had like 5 different bolt patterns oddly enough . but i do know that you can put almost any honda spindle on your rear axle , opens up many new options for rim fitment and backspacings . either way ebays the place to go .

 

i never owned a trike but has always been fond of them any way to the point i guess.I at one time owned a lt 125 4 wheeler same crap only both back wheels.But i am just looking at ebay decent rim for sale for 25 bucks looks new i would buy a cheap rim like trimotomike said(Have Fun)

They would be the same as on a 110
or a 185s or 200s
They should be 8" two piece with O-Ring should have 8 holes in rim 4 to bolt together and 4 for mounting to hub
They can be a pain
Yeah they get rusty
Ysually the issue is when people reassemble the O-Ring does not seal
you could silicone or use O-Ring lube made by Parker it can be found at most Hydraulic shops
Or what I do is look for Aluminum rims 8" if you can find in proper bolt circle cool
I have not had luck with that but what I do is find good rims take one of my spere hubs I knocked the studs out
Center in wheel mark and drill new holes
So I may be off a couple thousands of inch
Ridding down the trail cant tell Plus the rims lighter
I did just change out a set a couple weeks ago
Still have old rims for all 3 tires
