Default 1984 atc 70

put new carb on runs but foules plugs pilot is out 1 1/2 turns then turn in to adjust like it sayes but eng. never kills....the prob.is think its to rich plugs are a sutty black.......also will run 5 or 10 min. then kill in on position i put it on resv. and starts back up any body know theposition of the lines on the petcock..

I would suggest before you get to heavy into adjusting carb
Are your points set properly as that is critical on that engine
And will cause exactly what your complaint is
If you have a manual great
If not I would get one as that engine can be tricky to adjust
As for the fuel lines the fuel valve is marked
On the tank the best way is look in the tank and see which is the longer pickup you can usually see
