I recently got a 1983 200x. IT has brand new magneto on it but still dosent get spark. Any ideas? Also, When its off and i put it into gear , the wheels dont engage or lock up. I think its the clutch, am I right? I dont think its been ran for a while.

hi i hade the same promblem with my 84 200x with it not sparking.what i did is i started with the spark plug and made sure it was good.then after that i checked the pulse generator(clean it up realy good and but it back toghter the way the manaul says)got spark but not enough.then i took the coil and cleaned it were the screws go and sanded evey connection that hucked up or that had to with the spark.and i got a big spark right to my hand.if you need the manaul i can give you the link to were i got mine(it free and it tells you eveything you need to know)if you have any more promblems ask and i may be able to help i am know rebuilding my 200x from head to to.

i got a manual and got spark no. Now clutches are bad.

 

I think for the clutch you can get a kit pretty cheap, all you need is the clutch plates, the middle plates and the springs.
