Default idle on a 1983 200e big red 4 stroke

well i was out messing with the bike to day and have a idea on the rear drum brake. but that is some thing else to figure out....

the bike starts first pull. all i do is pull the choke put the eng switch to run and pull start or elect start the bike.. no smoke or anything out the exhaust. once running i push the choke back in the idle smooths out when i do to a nice purr.... but about 30sec - 1 min goes by and then the idle drops few 100 rpms and runs but rough and will stall if i dont give it a bit of throtle then the revs come back up and nice and smooth again this happends for about 15-20 min right after start up when the bike is cold. but during the summer so about 25c out so i think that is like 73 or something. when i got the bike it would run but i had to give it a small amount of throtle to keep it running then i started the bike and turned the idle adj a small bit till the idle smoothed out and there was no longer a need to give a small bit of throtle to keep it running but now every about 30 sec to a min if the bike is just idleing the revs drop a few 100 rpms and the bike idles roughly untill i give it a qiuck shot of throtle.

the spark plug is pretty clean and it is fresh gas that i am using. mind you it is only 87 gas does that matter???

I would try messing with the idle mixture screw when the bike is warm, see if you can get it any more stable.

Just a thought

Clean (rebuild) the carb. Some of the passages are probably clogged.
