Default atc 70 help

hello. recently i did an oil change on my '84 atc 70, and i'm noticing that it is smoking alot more, and burning alot more oil, and is also fouling my brand new NGK plugs. my question is, is there a big enough difference between 20-50 and SAE20-50 to make my motor burn more oil? it is supposed to have 20-50, but i put SAE in it.

secondly, i know lucas oil makes a type of stuff to put in your oil for multiple things, could someone tell me which lucas thing to buy, and if it will help my rings, valves, etc?

last, idk if it is because of the oil or not, but i recently switched from champion plugs to NGK, and the NGKs seem to be burning out faster, they are only lasting like 3 or 4 days, the champions lasted a week and a half or more. is this the plug or my engine?

thanks to all who answer, and of course you don't have to answer ALL of my questions just cause i asked 'em.

20-50? I put 10-40 in my 84 atc70. NGK plugs are great. Your wasting money putting LUCAS products into a 70 motor. No additive will repair worn rings and cylinders. Sounds like you need a top end.

no, but they will buy you time..

get the normal lucas oil, and some lucas stop leak,

what you really need is rings and gaskets

but additives are supposed to help seal the worn areas, that i know. i ordered some more champion plugs cause they lasted longer. next time i change the oil i'm putting just 20-50 in cause it worked better last time. i was looking into rings and stuff and should have done them when i replaced the head. i might order some and tear it apart again.
