honda atc 1985 200m not starting
I have a honda ATC 1985 200m, electric start. It was starting fine and then last week I went out to the cottage and it wouldnt start. I have plenty of juice from the battery. Checked the plug and tried two different plugs with the proper gap and no go. I checked the plug cable with a voltimeter and I'm not getting anything juice through it. I also check the power cable that pugs into the ignition coil box (where the sparkplug cable plugs into) and I didnt get any juice from there either.
Where else should I check for power? A local shop that fixes and sells honda ATC's says that it's most likely my magneto/flywheel.

First thing I would check is if you have a spark. Pull the spark plug out, hook the wire to it, lay it on the motor or just make it touch metal and turn the motor over. Do you have a spark?
If no spark, ohm the coil. Take the spark plug cap off, put the red probe in the end of the wire and put the black probe on the ground screw(mounting screw) of the coil. It should ohm out between 4.5 - 7 ohms. If its more than 7 - 7.5, it's bad. Remember, ohm not volts.

Hi, Ok I have the plug and coil off the bike. I have an Ohm meter but it's actually the first time I used one of these. It's a multimeter and has dc volt 2000mV - 1000V, AC Volt 200V-750V, dc amp 2000uA -10A and resistance 2000ohm-2000kohm. What setting do I set it at for the ohm?it has 2000(upsidedown u) 20, 200 and 2000. It also has a + with and arrow as another setting. Also, do you know the ohm reading for just the cable. thanks for all the help.
