My 85 350X needs fork seals . Are they hard to change and where should I get them as well as how much do they cost ?? Mt triks is all stock except the uni-filter . What can I ecomomically do to increase the acceleration . I live in a rural area and hardly ever ride it except around the house . Once a month . 2 days ago a guy on a warrior is running around our houseing addition . So i just have to push the 350X out in the drive . He of course stops and asks me if its fast . I couldnt help it , I said fast , hell itll eat your warrior . Kid was like 12-13 . About 10 minutes later , his dad shows up and says , " you think that old pile of S--- can beat the warrior . How could I resist . Warmed her up good and headed to the gonna get caught highway . Were drag raceing down the highway , I totally beat this guys new machine . Now a cop whips a u- turn . I pulled her and stopped . The guy on the warrior still goes . Cop follows him and finally gets him to stop . He motions for me to come up to them . Asks us what the hell were doing . The other guy had told his sstory already . BUt I didnt know what hed told the cop . I decided to tell the truth . I said the guy challenged a race and I couldnt resist . He said since I had numbers on it and told the truth I could go as long as I took it straight home . He gave the other guy a ticket for no numbers , and fleeing an officer . I could barely keep from laughing .
But eating that warrior up was fun .

Your lucky that wasnt the conservation officer, I've had runnins with that guy and he isnt the nicest person. Good thing you had numbers, so do I and that allows us to ride the county roads without breaking the law. Take care, Bryan

Now that is a good story. So you didn't get any tickets right? I have a '86 350x and it will probably need fork seals too. I have a big honda manual that shows you how to do everything to it. I would suggest getting one for $30 or how ever much they cost.

I'm curious, why do you have a 350x for just driving around your house?

The reason I have it is . I have it for a LONG time adn will probably never part with it . I dont have any one to ride with any more unless we take turns on mine . Most guys with little experience cant handle a 350X . IDleing around the yard is better thwn just sitting in the garage . I dont like to ride by myself .

Good story, but with a bike like that you wouldn't have had to stop, trust me just cut through yards. A good trick is to take a corner and just as the cop turns, cut back across the corner going back in the direction you came from. I know!!! I even done it on a 350X.
Back to your acceleration problem. The cheap routes you can take are smaller tires, changing sprockets, a little more expensive would be to get a torquier cam, or low end exhaust, but a real cheap method for HP would be to get the head milled a few thousandths. Cost is $30-$40. These won't give you gigantic hp leaps, but will keep you stomping the 4-Wheelers a$$e$

Put a 14 tooth on the front and get some 8inch rims for the back and put some 18 inch fast trakkers on them it will make your trike twice the fun and a whole lot safer.
