tri-z where two strokes too. the 250r was one. tecates were 2 strokes also i believe. anything with x in it, is a 4 stroke. like the 350x.

It's an honor to assist the restoration guru.

I know that Can-am and Husqvarna had a couple of prototype racers, but those don't really count, though I will say I have seen a tricky Dick's Husqvarna conversion it looked like a 400, but I don't really know all the old husky 2 strokes had huge fins going on so it could have been a 250 or 380 or something.

4strokemurder, the "x" rule doesnt work... Tecates were officially called KXT's. they were two-strokes

The ones with Expansion Pipes dude, LOL just teasing. all these other guys have it nailed. There was a company back in 1986 that made a direct swap 200 two stroke ready to race, engine for the Honda 200 X That engine was about 9 hundred dollars if I remember correctly from adds. The bike alone sold for $1,750.00 new. Not an easy sell for a regular rider then.
The bikes ran against the 4 strokes for a while in the very early days, some guys even down sized 250 engines to 200ccs to race in the class, but there was no competition at all.
I'm out.
Be cool.
