4 or 3 wheeler which is better???

Hi guys I'm new to this forum and new to three wheelers ,but I've always been into tools and four wheelers. I'm only twelve ,but for my age I know alot about engines, ATVs, ect... So anyway I am thinking about buying a three wheeler because I want to be different than all my friends with ATV's and dirtbikes. And also because 3 wheelers are not overly priced. I want one that needs work, but has potentional. My friends dad said that 4 wheelers outpreform 3 wheelers in almost everyway. I understand that they take some getting used to, but I'm not going to be dumb and try anything crazy as soon as I get it. So I was wondering are 4 wheelers really that much better like my freinds dad says??? thanks

if your stupid and dont ride within your limits you will get hurt on ether. i think it takes more skill to ride a 3wheeler, and generally 4wheelers are more forgiveing when you do dumb things. i enjoy the rush i get from rideing a 3wheeler, but i deffinatly feel safer rideing something with 4wheels.
as far as performance ect, your friends dad is probably right. companies have been improveing 4wheelers, makeing them speedier and overall better preforming than the much older 3wheelers. in comparison the 3wheelers seem underpowered (not in my opnion though) and lazier than todays 4wheelers.
as a side note companies have made "tribute" 3wheelers for show purposes. like a raptor 660 i saw in a magazine. they put todays technology into a 3wheeler, it had laptimes 1second faster on average than the regular 660. but the days of the 3wheelers are pretty much gone sad to say.

Hello again...I wasn't trying to bash three wheelers...if you read my bio you will see I started out on them....I agree you can get hurt on both if you dont resepct the machine's and your own limits...but why I said what I said was I was taking in the age of the first commentor....not saying he can't ride or would not use his head, but I have many friends either gone or missing limbs from three wheeler accidents....yes you can get hurt on 4 wheels too, but I think the young lad would be better served putting his money into a 4 wheeler imho....well happy trails all...Maine

I do like riding both my 4 wheelers and my 3 wheelers
'Each have their place in the fun and type of riding
Both must be respected if not then both can and will let you know with this in mind ride within your limits if you go beyond your limits and are not paying attn the machine will let you know
Usually in some form of a crash
But both are fun
Good luck

3 wheeler... Less trouble, less maintenance, easy on the enviroment when compared to a 4 wheeler... good on gas to!
.....and parts are pretty cheap and very easy to get parts for..

Like SMFFREY I'd agree that both are fun, for that matter regular bikes are great too. But I've always been most comfortable on my bike or quad...my three wheeler sits in my garage because it's cool to look at. My worst wrecks (well most stupid looking at least) were on my little yamaha 3-wheeler.
