My 1985 honda atc 250sx was in need of new oil. and my dad told me to get honda oil. so i went to my nearest atv shop and it was $6.95 a quart. i needed two quarts to fill it up. IT WAS WORTH IT!!! the motor runs so smooth now and has more power.

if my oil has SAE on the back of it, which stands for society of automotive engineers, then that means it meets industry standards, and i'll use it. i'm not really picky.

well i agree with pcollins,, its all in your mind,,, putting any kind of oil in the crankcase of a 250sx will not make more power,,,,, its impossible ... a 250sx making like what 16 hp,,, and your going to tell me now with new RACING oil as you put it,,, its making more horsepower? sorry its not,,,,

I am sure if you look in the manual there is specific oil recomended for the engines
Especially if you have semiautomatic clutch
While yes you can run whatever brand type oil you like
Oils are designed for specific jobs to work with the components in that machine
I have buddys that run same oil in everything they own and it works for them
Myself
I run specific oil for each type vehicle I am running and yes I have several vehicles and several different types and brands of oil
The makeup of oil used in todays engines is not the same as was 5-10 years ago
Not taking sides but just giving something to think about
Thanks
