There is a lever on the cylinde head, right sife. I'm thinkng this is a compression release. Never had one before. I know it's to release compression, but why, and when and how do you use it.

Thanks..
Bill

The compression release makes it easier to start by hand if the battery won't turn the engine over. Don't use the lever with your electric start!

The manual says to pull the lever up to the Decomp position, The lever moves down auto. when the starter is pulled. If the lever does not stay in the decomp. postition there is already no compression in the cylinder so just pull starter and ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!
