I would check the voltage I agree if voltage above 14.7v may cause bulb to burn out
Could handle possibly up to 15.1v.
I do however question where you are getting your bulbs from.
If motorcycle shop make sure they are not 6v bulbs as I have seen this.
We also had an issue with one of my buddies 110s burnt out the haedlight bulb.
Ordered new bulb which burned out about 3 minutes.
What we noticed was the origional bulb wattage was like 35w the new bulb was 25w.
We were at the dunes so we rode over to vender row and one of the venders had a 50w bulb.
Worked great and bright.
Just my input hope it helps.

there will be no regulator because there is no battery to charge ... i believe the main parts are gonna be the ignition and lighting coils and the condenser and points in the stator... do you have a manual? (silly question but you wouldn't believe how many ppl dont ) start with checking the out put of the stator wile idling... and the wires for breaks an crossovers live previously stated

Well???? Did it work????

I just got a 82' Honda ATC 185s and I have the same problem. I took the light out and hooked it up to a multi meter. I have spikes up to 50 volts when switching from "off" to "Low" and "High" on the light switch.

Everything I researched suggested this problem may be a bad voltage regulator. But everyone I spoke to can't seam to find one either. It was then suggested to me that I replaced the CDI Box. Does the CDI box act as a voltage regulator to the lights?

Very interested in the fix for this problem.

Thanks,

Naz
