Well to run that kind of tire you need a 10" rim. F.A.S.T. ( farm and sand toys ) used to sell the douglas front 10" rim for the 250r but I don't know if they still do. First thing to do if you want a sporty front tire is find that rim. Other than that you don't have too much of a choice.

I"m looking for a polished aluminum rim for my 250SX. Any body know who sells one?

I have the stock rims powdercoated with a metalic silver, and it looks good, but when I go to the dunes to ride, I have the polished aluminum on the rear, and would like to have the front to match.
When I bought the wreck of a bike, it had 11" wide tires on the front, and when it gathered mud, it had rubbed the front forks completely into the seals and there was no fluid left. Currently I have a 9X22 on the front. With a new rim, I'd try to go with an 8" wide.

All you need to do is get a 250r or 350x hub and rim. Use the 250sx's axle fab up some spacers and you can run any 8" by 11" you like. I did that to mine so my girlfriend could steer it easier. She likes the auto clutch.

If I were you I would wait for a 350x or 85' 86' 250r hub rim and tire combo to come up on e-bay. Usually they aren't too much under 100.00 and you'll be set. As far as the axles you need to use the 250sx's axle due to it's length and yes the 250sx the 350x and the 85' 86' 250r all use the same diameter axle just the lenght is different. As far as the offset, with the 250r 350x tire rim and hub if you were looking at the bike from the front on the left side the spacer you will need to make out of pipe or something will be approx. 2" and the right side will be approx. 1" to center the wheel tire hub between the forks. I thought this was all going on a 250sx? When did the 84' 4 come into play? The only 10" front rims that I know of are for a 350x or 85' 86' 250r I don't know of one for your 84'.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I see. My bad when dennishoddy chimed in it messed me all up, guess I should pay better attention. The aftermarket parts are far more plentiful for water cooled than aircooled or should I say easier to get ahold of. I think that's a good reason to have one of each.
