Is the throttle cable kinked or fitting tight under the gas tank? Or getting caught up? Sounds like it's binding.

Exclamation Bike Problems

I'm having problems with my gear shifter. I bought a bike months ago from this guy on craigslist. it had a honda ATC engine ( i beleive it's a 81) and a Yamaha quad body on it, it ran fine, until i tried changing the oil.....well i couldn't get the drain bolt to crack so i pumped the oil out then added new oil. okay then.... it wouldn't change gears! my gearshift wont hardly move! like i have to push HARD and i even bent it in the process. so then i found a screw just above the hi/low gearbox and it looked like i could add gear oil in it..ok i put gear oil in and fire it up...still wont go! so then one day i played around with the screw above the gearbox and found out it had a springand the thing that switches it from hi to low well the spring fell down inside the dang gearbox!!! i'm at a dead end here guys!!! someone please help!! I want to fix it so badly! I put alot of money into this bike by buying parts for the recoil starter, buying a hose for carb and spray painting it. so i really want to fix it. I cant mess with it til 2011 because i'm having a knee re-alignment coming up soon. but if you would, please study it for me? i'm a do it myself girl and i've learned alot of stuff on my own just by messing with bikes but i'm stumped here.

Thanks,
Jessie
