My old 85 piped 250SX used to run dead even with my new then stock 87 Warrior.

 

65mm carb, thats huge.

 

He's probably measuring the wrong end. A 65mm carb wouldn't fit between the frame and intake of the ATC. In fact, 65mm is bigger than the whole intake and probably bigger than the reed cage. Tell your friend to measure the other side of the carb (the small one). That is the size of his carb.

He gets beaten by scrablers? I can't believe that one either. No offense, but I've raced scramblers too and was not impressed at all. They are slow bikes. I'd rather get a Banshee any day of the week.

I beat this really big ground hog this one time. Maybe he didn't wanna race but when he jumped out in front of me i had no choise but to beat him. them knobby marks on his forhead looked kinda funny. i beat this one big sheperd dog one time too. i was only on my atc 90 that was all wore out but i still beat him. good thing he was a old dog. that there dog was the BIGGIST thing i ever beat on my trike. i herd about thisone eskimo one time that beat a polar bare with his three weeler and he only had a 70. it a good thing it was real lite or he wudnnuh ben able to beat that bare liek that. thats the biggest thing i ever heard was beat by a three wheelr.

 

A perfectly stock 81' 250R with the stock tires in a sand drag up a hill at Sandlake beat a stock banshee with K&N's and paddles. If you ask me thats an accomplishment. Not to mention that this 250R is still on the stock bore & piston!

 

WHOA now!!! I liked the 82 ATC 250R i rode that weekend, BUT NO WAY IN HE!! did A stock 81 beat a banshee, unless of course the Banshee rider was TOTALLY incompetent...

I have a 85 350x, completely stock. I just bought it 2 months ago. My buddies were giving me crap for buying an old trike. I raced them all, and sat and waited for them at the finish. Was not even a close race, although I realize these were utility quads, but I shut them up real fast. Now they want to ride it. I raced a Sportsman 500 HO, Foreman 450s, and another sportsman 500.

 

A couple of weeks ago my Uncle let me borrow his 85 ATC250R since my quad broke down and my friend had a 2000 Banshee. Well, we were racing and I smoked him, even around some of the corners and he is a prety good quad rider, almost as good as me!! My uncle said he beat a 400EX out in the dunes. I think the only thing a 250R would have trouble with is a Quadzilla!!!!!
