I found an atc 90 in an old garage and the owner said he would sell it for $300. He said it hadn't been ran in about 8 years but was running when he parked it. I would like to restore it but was wondering if parts were hard to find and what problems I might encounter on a bike that has set that long. Any help would be appreciated.

 

I think the price is a little steep. I just picked up a 125m this weekend for the wife ($300), I have completely torn it down, I'm going to hot-rod it maybe even Nitros. As for parts, you could get most oem at bikebandit.com and used on ebay. I found everything I need.

 

I was really more interested in fixing it and keeping it than riding it. I know 1970 was the first year they ever made them and I thought that a early model like this might be hard to come by. If they are readily available I will probably let it pass but if they are hard to find I would like to get it before someone else does.

 

If its a 70-74 and you can restore it to showroom codition they are worth a lot of money. To part for these older one are harder to find. I just saw a pair of ballon tires stock on the original us90 sell for over $1000 on ebay.

 

Thanks, that's what I was wanting to hear. I didn't know if it was valuable but I thought it may be since it was one of the first models to come out. I am going to pick it up tomorrow. I am sure you will hear from me a lot more in the future because I'm sure I will need some parts and tech info.

 

I went and picked it up today. the brake levers and cables are froze up but it is really not in that bad of shape. Does anyone know where I can get some tires? I havn't checked my dealer yet but I know they will be expensive if I have to buy from them. Is there anywhere that specializes in atc's? If so please let me know.

Are you looking for the original no-rim tires? Those are hard to come by, try ebay.

The tires that you are looking for was discontinued by Honda back in the late '80s.

However, long time dealers keep all kinds of stuff in storage. Try calling long time established Honda dealers first and then check with some of the web sites dedicated to the ATC90. You would be amazed at what kind of information is available on the web about them.
