Air cooled
#2
If it's stock, you should be able to run it as long as you want. Just make sure you don't run it lean. It will cause it to run hot. I have run my 84 atc 250r that was bored .80 over, ported, polished, head milled, piped, reed cage, 39mm kehihn carb, and clamp on k&n for hours wide open in the dunes and didn't have an engine failure. I can tell when it is hot the idle will pick up and it doesn't have as much power as when I first start it. If it feels hot or sounds hot, let it cool down. I've got an 83 with a 300 big bore kit that is at it's last bore at .100 over that's heavily modded as well and have run on the same piston and rings for about 2 years now. Every time I get on it, it's wide open throttle every gear. Use a good oil like klotz or maxima and mix it at 32:1. Just use your head and don't overrev and get a good oil mixture and you should be allright.
