Default Questions about racing and the Zilla

Howdy all, again. I have been gone for a while and it has sucked, lol. Glad to see that everyone is still doing well. I need some advice/opinions etc.

I have a '90 Zilla and want to do some GP style races. I also want to do limited MX. Beyond the width factor am I going to be fighting the quad so much that it wont be any fun? I have thought of selling it and looking at the new 450trx but there is just something about the Zilla that makes me want to keep it. It is mostly stock now. I am planning on going through all of the bearings and bushings also updating the suspension, tires/wheels and changing the carb over to a Lectron.

Any advice on suspension? I do not have unlimited funds but want to replace the 13yr old stock stuff or should I have the stock shocks reworked? I am looking at works shocks right now. Also I plan on going with Holeshots for the mixed terrain. Any other advice from those with experience would be welcomed. I am sure I am forgetting things and that is why I am checking with all of the folks here.

I guess that my final question would be -- Keep the Zilla and dump some money into it or sell it and go with a new generation sport quad? Thanks.
