Hi, new here... I'm collecting info on turbo charging a WR426 engine. The reason? I'm building a project roadracer using a TZ250 chassis and a WR426 engine. The engine compartment has plenty of room for more... ie turbo, piping, etc. But, first I want to make sure I'm not making a big mistake. I've not found ANY information on the net about turboing a 400/426/or 450 engine. Lots of raptor or banshee's and the DS650 guy on here, but nothing on my engine. I'm looking for 60-70 reliable horsepower out of this engine. Can't go over 444cc's cause nothing bigger is available. So, turbo is the only other way. Cant use NOS or alky. So, any info would be great.

weel u can start off with changin all the internals to be much stronger and better with heat!!!
second i would go to the junk yard and slap one on from there into ur bike. just mkae it so there is less boost or ur blow ur engine. just put a regulator on it and ull be fine. but definaly beef up the internals. high compression piston and running on racing gass will help 2...big carb, pipes all the usual 2

 

NOOOOOO!!!!! with a turbo you want to be running LOW compression pistons or you will detonate your engine. Try to find the smallest car turbo available and reduce the boost all the way, and then work your way from there.
