Default getting in shape. a bit OT

hello,
does anyone here play any sports to get in shape for riding? im thinking about doing it the other way around. lol. im thinking if i do the right kind of riding it will help to get me in shape. like riding tight technical courses will help with upper body and stuff. im about ready to start preparing for jr. high soccer next year and wanting to get back in shape. at my school we play jr. high in the spring then go right to j.v. im hoping that i can do some hard riding this winter at an indoor track to help get me in shape ( along with other things ) for soccer. am i crazy for trying this? does anyone think this will not work? thanks

matt

Nothing is better for endurance than running. Lifting weights will help with strength.

For improving riding endurance ... lots of long fast riding should help. Keep in shape at an indoor track and ride hard!

Never knew a workout could be this fun, did ya?

yea, i was hoping for a good excuse to go ride there a lot. my parents are not into the whole racing thing, lol, but atleast they are gonna let me ride on the track for open practice.

The Atkins diet is a very low carb diet. To put it simply, eat lots of meat, some salad, and no bread/cereal type stuff. See atkins.com.

Try running 100 yards in 2-3 foot snow drifts. The veins in my neck and shoulders hurt just thinking about it.
