Maybe you should try the First Year Racer class or a "C" class. I believe that AMA District 6 has some good hare scrambles that you may want to give a shot if you haven't raced before so that you can get a little experience. You'll also need to get a teather kill switch.

I e-mailed them that same question.
My E-mail
I just want to know if the new Yamaha YFZ450, or the Honda TRX450R will
be able to be in the 4-stroke stock class in the 04 GNCC season. With
them having rezzie's stock, keep them out. The Cannondale Blaze was not
aloud, but I did see some YFZ's in the stock class last year, so I just
want to know if the rules have changed.
There response
Yes those machines will be legal. Honestly the big problem with the Blaze
was the price. This was supposed to be a budget class and at $11 Gs, this
was not a budget machine. The 450s are more reasonably priced.
So you can race stock on them. But do not touch the exhaust system or you
are out.
Thanks,
-jason
