I want to race my 250EX but it is all stock. I know I would have to have a kill switch and get a chest protector. Would I need a pipe and air filter?

 

You don't absolutely have to have a new pipe but it will definetely increase your power. I would also look into getting wheel spacers to widen your bike so that you can go into the corners faster. Spacers are a lot cheaper than buying a new axle and a-arms like I did!

I was wondering since my spark arrestor is out now, if i should get a K&N filter and K&N jet kit?

If you are going to get a K&N filter and jet kit then I would go ahead and get a new pipe. I use a CT racing pipe on my 2-stroke but I've heard they make great pipes for 4-strokes as well. KillerKXF, I've been riding since I was four and I have never even seen a Tecate before. Are they good bikes? How do they stack up against the TRX250R? Before I bought my quad I considered getting a Tecate but there is just no aftermarket for them.

 

1bad250r....they were the fastest of the 250 2-strokes but their handling sucked. but I have taken care of those problems. as far as parts alot of mine have been custom made. and alot of the motor parts either were customized from KX250 parts or just got lucky on ebay. but they are a blast. nothing is better than a factory 2-stroke with power valves. gotta love them 2-strokes
