NEW AND IMPROVED 400EX
#1
Why doesn't honda biuld the 400ex a little wider. that way we mxers wouldn't need to purchase a set of arms and axles that cost over $1,000 combined. All it takes is additional material of steel on the arms, axles, and longer brake lines for the front. Not only will it improve handling, but make it safer for the average rider. Isn't that what the manufactures want anyways.

Because, you have to build the bike for the majority of the people. The people that MX would make up a very small percentage of all the 400EX's that have been sold. This bike is a sport bike in that it is built mainly for the recreational rider therefore they must meet the demands for what the market would want. Being this, they have to attempt to build something that works in the dunes, desert, tight woods trails, fire roads, etc. I race GNCC and if it was any wider than it already is it would be worthless as a trail bike. Also, it is a lot easier to widen a bike than it is to narrow one up.
